Santa Clara Parking Lot Closure Update

Due to preparations and activities related to Super Bowl 50 on February 7, the parking lots for train passengers at the Santa Clara/Great America Station have been closed since early January. These lots, including the VTA Park & Ride Lot and Levi’s Stadium’s Yellow Lots #2 and #3, will remain closed until approximately March 1. Alternate parking is available at Yellow Lot #1, which is the Santa Clara city parking garage. Parking at the Kiss & Ride lot at 5151 Lafayette St. will also be available to train passengers. Stay tuned for further updates on the re-openings of these lots.

Rider Tip: Guard Your Gadgets

Helpful tips

While Capitol Corridor is generally a safe place with lots of friendly passengers, it’s never a good idea to leave your electronic gadgets and valuable items, such as purses, phones, lap tops, or cameras, unattended. As a reminder, please be sure to keep anything with you that you would not want to lose when you leave your seat, even if it’s a quick trip to the restroom. At the very least, make sure valuables are packed away and not visible.

The same precautions apply if you park your car at a Capitol Corridor lot. Never leave valuables in your car, and in fact, don’t leave anything visible in your car, such as gym bags or empty boxes. These are prime targets for thieves and increase the chance of your car being broken into. Break-ins at station lots can and do happen, so we strongly urge you to be extra cautious.
